I've been developing Drupal

I've been developing Drupal sites on my local computer, using xamp.

I haven't tried to use the multisite feature, but now that it's so easy, using the Acquia Stack, I'd like to try. Three questions:

1. Will I need to uninstall xamp on my computer to use the Aquia stack installer?

2. I have several sites on my local machine that I'd like to upgrade to the current version of Drupal. Can I use the stack installer for this?

3. Are there any concerns I should be aware of in uploading a multisite configuration to my host--in this case, Blue Host.

In answer to your questions:

When installing the DAMP stack, you can choose the ports that Apache and MySQL address. Just make sure that xampp and the Acquia Drupal stack are using different ports and you should be fine.

I have several sites on my local machine that I'd like to upgrade to the current version of Drupal. Can I use the stack installer for this?

The stack installer currently installs local Acquia Drupal sites, but cannot run upgrades for you.
If you are testing Drupal functionality and don’t need the sites you set up with the installer in the long term, you can simply uninstall the installer stack and replace it with the latest version when a new Acquia Drupal/stack installer release come out.
If you need to keep a particular configuration in the longer term, you can upgrade local sites the same way you would in any other Drupal installation. Instructions on this can be found in “Migrating from Drupal 6.x to Acquia Drupal” at http://acquia.com/documentation/getting-started/d6-migration. (An update from one version of Acquia Drupal to another is basically the same as updating from any Drupal 6.x to Acquia Drupal.)

Are there any concerns I should be aware of in uploading a multisite configuration to my host--in this case, Blue Host.

You need to migrate the database and all of the Acquia Drupal files to the new server. The process isn't different in any way to moving any other locally hosted Drupal site to a live server - DAMP doesn't present any special gotchas that we're aware of.

This is great, thank you so much. I am new to Drupal, not exactly a developer and built a couple sites in the past weeks. I downloadeded the DAMP stack a few days ago and love it!

I tried the multi site feature and get the following error. How do I solve it? Fully appreciated help.

I looked up the error message on Acquia.com, google.com and drupal.org but could not find any doc.

It sounded like a really simple request: "Is it easy to add a search filter for 'My posts'?". In other words, add a search result facet for posts by the current (logged in) user through the Apache Solr Search Integration module APIs?

But then the wheels start turning - we want not just one blind link, but a real facet link that tells us how many results we'll get. Also, if we are filtering by 'My posts' then we probably have an equal use case for the opposite filter 'Posts not by me'. So we really need a facet block with two links and facets counts.
