An honor and a privilege

From the first days of my involvement with Drupal I have looked to Dries Buytaert with deep respect and affection. His guidance of the Drupal project and the Drupal Association have been impeccable, and every opportunity I have had to work with him has been positive and productive. Therefore, when I told him that I was changing jobs, and he asked if I would like to join Acquia, I was pretty darn happy and excited.
As Acquia's Senior Drupal Analyst I will be involved in the efforts to grow the next generation of Drupal contributors and to facilitate the prosperity and success of companies that earn their livings by providing Drupal related services and products. As such my personal and professional goals will be more closely aligned than at any other time during my work with Drupal. I also feel that my personal set of skills and abilities will be put to the best use yet.
In addition to the goal of growing the world of Drupal contributors and professionals, I'll still be very involved in the Drupal technologies that interest me the most. Performance and scalability will remain one of my chief focuses, as will Drupal search. Whether as a consultant or as an engineer, Acquia will facilitate my role as a Drupal contributor and active community member.
Joining a great team and pursuing a compelling vision is a powerful experience, and I'm grateful for the opportunity. Doing so on the eve of the Boston Drupalcon 2008 is almost more excitement than I can handle =) Hello Acquia... see you all in Boston!
