Reviving your corporate blog with community in mind

lcapozzi's picture

All you have to do is google “CEOs and blogging” and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about: more corporate and executive blogs than you can count. As a marketer, chances are you have your hands into some aspect of your businesses blog (s) or your executive team’s approach to blogging. Also likely is that sometime in the recent past or near future you have or will receive the call to ignite a better blogging campaign for your C-level executives. Read full article »

The Lifestyle of Drupal Support

ksilanskas's picture

When people hear the word support, it often drums up images of overcrowded call centers in a faraway land staffed by the lowest bidder and a digitized voice that tells you how important your call is to them. So important, in fact, that it will be answered in the order received. Read full article »

Acquia Drupal: How does it benefit community modules and maintainers?

When Acquia initially announced it would include one of my modules (Fivestar) in their original "Carbon" proposal, I was completely thrilled. From what I had heard, Acquia would provide support for that module, working with their clients to resolve issues and reporting bugs and patches back into the Drupal.org issue queue to get the issues fixed. That was stellar news at the time, since I'm usually overwhelmed with the amount of work required by maintaining my contributed modules. Read full article »

ZDNet Names Drupal as a Top Community Platform

Jeff Whatcott's picture

Dion Hinchcliffe over at ZDNet has named Drupal as one of the top ten leading platforms for creating online communities, one small notch behind Joomla.

The first part of Dion's post explains the current state of online community building practices and technology. Dion does a lot of consulting with top companies seeking to build communities around their products and services, and his insights are on target.

Although I would have put Drupal in the #1 spot, I really like Dion's brief description of Drupal: Read full article »

Building community

Barry Jaspan's picture

At the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco last week I attended the session "Community Building: Good, Bad, and Ugly." More than anything else, it reminded me of the "Building Community" session hosted by Laura Scott of pingVision that I attended a year ago at the OSCMS 2007 conference in Sunnyvale last April. I went to Laura's session with no expectations (there was nothing else in that time slot I wanted to attend) and was really pleased to find the discussion relevant with tangible, actionable ideas I understood and could use. I've been meaning to post my notes from that session for a year and now I'm finally motived. So, here they are! Read full article »
