CSS tweaks on a multisite

In my multisite installation, I want to tweak the css for one of my domains (example.com). Short of creating an entire new theme or subtheme at sites/example.com/themes, is there some simpler way for me to do this?

Thanks.

AEgir and Acquia

What is Acquia's stance on AEgir?

Our production server currently has 8 subsites managed through AEgir 0.3. Our planned method of handling core upgrades was to download the new version as a separate directory, and migrate each site over to the new version one at a time. This would different subsites to run under different core versions during the upgrade in case some part of the upgrade breaks an existing site. This would only be until we fixed the problem (normally some custom module) and then moved it too. Read full article »

multisite setup?

I have just installed the DAMP, and think it's a much better product than MAMP in initial observation.

Here is my problem ;

DAMP installation creates a new Drupal site (with it's own code base)... great!

- However, if I initiate a "NEW..." site, it will not allow me to install a new "Drupal code base", it would use the FIRST SITE's code base, and a new multisite is created

- Now, I know I can use the "Import..." function, and point to a new "Drupal code base" and start a new site. But, IMPORT does not explain the action we are taking here! Read full article »

Multiple instances of DAMP versus Multisite support

Thank you for DAMP, awesome! Question from a Drupal newbie ...

Can I and/or should I run multiple instances of DAMP on Vista to support development for multiple sites not sharing code, contributed modules, nor databases?

DAMP's multi site feature would make managing multiple sites easy but these sites have nothing to do with each other and I am concerned with performance overhead and compatibility issues tied to loading many different modules not used across all site. ... or is that a pointless concern because I just don't know any better?

Thank you for any help; fully appreciated. Read full article »

Can't find "Import" mentioned in latest release...

I read on the release notes that you can now setup different code bases using the stack installer with an import button in the sites tab of the control panel...

* You can use the stack installer's control panel to manage other Drupal codebases such as Drupal 7 or Drupal 6. To do so, open the control panel, click Settings, select the Sites tab, and click Import. (AN-7893)

I installed the latest version and can't find it there.

Multisite DAMP feature

I am new to Drupal, not exactly a developer and built a couple sites in the past weeks. I downloadeded the DAMP stack a few days ago and love it!

I tried the multi site feature and get the following error. How do I solve it? Fully appreciated help.

----------------------------
host file doesn't exist or is not writable. 'C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts'
----------------------------

I looked up the error message on Acquia.com, google.com and drupal.org but could not find any doc.

Acquia Drupal Stack (DAMP) Installer Gets Multisite Support

When Acquia came out with the Drupal Stack (DAMP) Installer, many new users likely got very excited. You can use this installer to download and install everything you need to get a Drupal web content management environment up and running with a single click on a Mac or Windows system. But while it was a good way to get Drupal up and running quickly, it didn't have everything you may have wanted.

Acquia asked the community what new features they would like to see with the DAMP Installer and the community responded — multisite support. Acquia, of course, obliged. Read full article »

Multisites with the Acquia Stack Installer...

I've been developing Drupal sites on my local computer, using xamp.

I haven't tried to use the multisite feature, but now that it's so easy, using the Acquia Stack, I'd like to try. Three questions:

1. Will I need to uninstall xamp on my computer to use the Aquia stack installer?

2. I have several sites on my local machine that I'd like to upgrade to the current version of Drupal. Can I use the stack installer for this?

3. Are there any concerns I should be aware of in uploading a multisite configuration to my host--in this case, Blue Host.

Thank you!

Multisite using MAMP Pro

I'm hoping someone can help me with this.

I'm not running Acquia Drupal in a hosted server environment, I'm running it on my MacBook. I use MAMP Pro to manage the installation, because I find it easier to use with respect to setting up multiple virtual hosts.

I've found many installation instructions - although no definitive ones - that detail how to set up Acquia/Drupal using the regular version of MAMP, but nothing that shows how to set this up in MAMP Pro. Read full article »

Migrating the Drupal way. Part III: managing multiple sites with Drupal

Kevin Hankens's picture

OK, you've got a few sites. Maybe you are a company with a handful of product sites, or maybe you are a university with hundreds of department sites. When working with more than one site you will inevitably run into problems with maintenance, revision control, deployment and the like. For my third installment on migrating to Drupal, I'd like to show you how using Multisite installations can make your life a whole lot easier. Read full article »
