How to Delight Your Site Visitors with the New Acquia Search

Acquia Search is available now! Adding Acquia Search to your Drupal site improves site response times, lowers abandon rates, and helps site visitors find content faster. Based on the powerful Lucene and Solr technologies from the Apache project, Acquia Search creates a rich index of your site content and increases the number of page views and time on your site by as much as 50%. When users search on your site, Acquia Search presents them with dynamically created filters so they can drill into results based on date, author, taxonomy term, content type, or other built-in or custom attributes. The result? delighted visitors. Come and see how it works.

What are people saying about Acquia Search?

I believe Acquia Search may become the product for enterprise customers to take a more serious look at Drupal and Acquia. Enterprises have a difficult time delivering on the promise of Enterprise 2.0 to its people especially in the area of content management, social publishing, and search capabilities…..Acquia Search could very well be the solution enterprises have been seeking without all the messy evaluation and entry level costs…… Bryan CMS Report

But you simply can’t beat the Apache Solr Module in terms of allowing users to narrow down exactly what they might be looking for.The big problem to using this module is setting up your own Apache Solr instance and running a Java-based Lucene server. The solution to this problem is the Acquia Search service provided via the Acquia Network. After a quick 30 minute setup, I had the GotDrupal.com web site singing the glory of faceted searching. http://gotdrupal.com/videos/drupal-search-using-acquia-solr-service

If you've not checked this out, you need to do it right now. It's a faceted search that makes you wonder why anyone would pay Endeca or Mercado. If you have a site with a good content depth that is taxonomized, you need to check this thing out. Chris Rikli Anova Solutions
