Issue working with Drupal on a local network

I have a network set up at home which includes a box with Server 2003 and a Vista desktop. I've installed Acquia Drupal on Server 2003 without a hitch. If I am working directly on the box everything is great. If I try and access the Drupal site from my desktop that is where I have issues.

1. At times I can get to the website and at other times I can not.
2. When I do get to the website I only see the content. No themes are applied and it appears that the scripts are not running either.

Any ideas how to fix this other than install Acquia Drupal on my desktop? I would prefer to keep in my development environment.

NOTE: I am not using IIS for my AD install but it is on my web server. I also have ColdFusion installed utilizing it's own built in web server. There is also an install of SQL 2005. These shouldn't cause conflicts with the Drupal stack but I could be wrong.
