Acquia was recently honored as one of Built In Boston’s 100 Best Places to Work in 2021. Built In’s Best Places to Work List recognizes companies who prioritize factors employees care about including factors like benefits, career development opportunities and support for diversity and inclusion. Especially in such challenging times, we’re proud to be recognized for our team’s dedication to our global, people-first culture.
#CommittedToAwesome: Employee Health and Wellness
Now is often the time many people set New Year’s resolutions to be healthier, get active and reach personal and professional goals. In the spirit of health and wellness, Acquia started the year by hosting an informational session to help our teams feel their best. We invited energy expert Dr. Jo Lichten, PhD, RDN, CSP, to provide guidance to Acquians on how food and drink affects physical, mental and emotional health. In her session, "Eating For Peak Performance," Dr. Jo answered nutrition questions submitted by Acquians. The seminar featured a virtual quiz show to debunk some popular nutrition misconceptions and share knowledge about how anyone can choose foods that support their focus and mood at work.
Another popular resolution people make every year is resolving to save more money and be smarter about their finances. Acquia recently introduced some new employee benefits to help people meet their goals. Acquia is partnering with financial wellness solution, SoFi @ Work, a platform that provides financial tools and dashboards, educational resources and assistance with things like student loan refinancing. Along with other benefits like pet insurance and a new discount program, our team wants to help Acquians in their financial wellness efforts.
#Leadership: Learning to Lead with Intention
We believe that everyone has the ability to be a great leader no matter their role. As part of our monthly Cognition Kitchen learning program, we hosted a session to teach Acquians about “Leading with Intention in a Virtual World.” Especially with many teams facing challenges with remote work this past year, it can be especially tough for managers to create a sense of unity and purpose among their teams. In this panel, Acquia leaders from across multiple departments shared their strategies for being mindful, building community spirit and accelerating career development for their employees in a work-from-home environment. Attendees came away with some great tips for avoiding Zoom fatigue and making time for those personal, one-on-one moments when you can’t meet up in-person.
#JumpInAndOwnIt: Global Team Kickoffs
At Acquia, one of our founding cultural DNA values is that we’re always ready to jump in and own it! We tackled 2021 head on with a series of kickoff events designed to energize and engage our workforce to succeed in the year ahead. Our leadership came together to plan multi-day virtual events, including a Research and Development (R&D) Kickoff and Sales & Marketing Kickoff. Acquians from the Americas, EMEA and APJ all joined in interactive strategy sessions and workshops. Having a virtual space where we could celebrate Acquians’ great achievements from 2020 and build excitement for what’s to come was a perfect way to bring everyone together in a time where many have missed the camaraderie of the office.
Our Sales & Marketing Kickoff featured fun competitions and group activities including a team fitness challenge, yoga session and whiskey cocktail mixing workshop! Plus, Acquians shared videos about the unique ways they planned to “Up Their Game” in 2021!
With the year already off to a strong start, we’re looking forward to another year of making Acquia the best place to work for all.
