BOSTON – November 28, 2016 – Acquia, the digital experience company, today announced the appointment of Jairo Romero as chief revenue officer, Peter Troost as senior vice president of engineering and Michael Ehrich as vice president of security and information services.
As CRO, Romero, a SaaS industry veteran, will drive the rapid adoption of digital experience delivery platforms among global brands and organizations as they embrace the power of open source and the cloud. He will lead Acquia’s growth initiatives. Troost, an accomplished leader of engineering teams, will oversee Acquia’s engineering operations and accelerate the introduction of new services to customers via Acquia’s open cloud platform.
Ehrich joins Acquia as vice president of security and information services. He will lead the company’s information security and product security practices and oversee Acquia’s technology systems.
“Jairo, Peter and Mike join Acquia at an exciting time in our evolution, as an ever-increasing number of global organizations are moving to open source and cloud computing to bring innovation and agility to digital experience delivery,” said Tom Erickson, Acquia CEO.
Jairo Romero joins Acquia from Insight Venture Partner’s DrillingInfo, a leading SaaS and Big Data analytics platform for the oil and gas industry. Previously Romero spent 12 years at Rackspace, where he served in a variety of leadership roles including head of enterprise sales and EMEA. During his tenure, Rackspace grew from $45 million to nearly $2 billion in annual revenue.
Erickson added, “As we expand both internationally and in new industries, Jairo’s experience with Rackspace’s commitment to “Fanatical Support” will ensure that new and existing Acquia customers will continue to achieve improvements in time to market and cost savings on digital initiatives, without increasing their risk.”
“Acquia brings tremendous impact and value to Global 2000 organizations through the power and flexibility of the Acquia Platform,” Romero said. “I’ve joined an accomplished team that’s passionate about customer success. Together we’re working to position Acquia for the next phase of its journey as the preeminent provider of digital experience platforms.”
Peter Troost joins Acquia from Radius Worldwide, where as chief technology officer he designed and built the company’s SaaS software offering for planning and managing corporate global operations. He previously held engineering leadership positions at Rave Mobile Safety, WebGen and eDocs, now part of Oracle.
Chris Stone, Acquia’s CPO, said, “Peter brings critical expertise that will help our organization accelerate the delivery of solutions for digital experience delivery including multi-site management, personalization, security, and governance. Under his leadership, we’ll grow our capabilities for delivering best-in-class customer experiences and a secure, scalable platform for end-to-end contextual experiences.”
Troost said, “Acquia is a cloud computing pioneer in its work in creating a highly scalable cloud platform for the delivery of open source software. The Acquia Platform powers very ambitious digital initiatives for global industries from pharmaceuticals to healthcare, media and entertainment to consumer packaged goods and government. We are bringing the industry’s best practices to our engineering organization that will cascade across our organization from product delivery to professional services and support.”
Michael Ehrich was previously senior vice president of finance for ERGOS Technology Partners. He previously owned managed IT services provider AIO Network Solutions before its 2015 acquisition by ERGOS.
Erickson said, “Michael Ehrich comes to Acquia with invaluable experience in leading a high-growth company focused on managed IT services, and under his leadership, our team will continue to grow its capabilities for best-in-class security and IT practices. Acquia’s security team is focused on every dimension of security, risk and compliance, and has implemented best-practice technology and processes to ensure Acquia’s customers operate in a highly secure environment compliant within industry security standards.”
Tim Bertrand moves from the role of Acquia’s chief revenue officer to chief sales officer, where he will focus on Acquia’s enterprise field operations and support Acquia’s expanding relationships with global accounts and key strategic partners.
