The Client

AdventHealth is a connected system of care for every stage of life and health. More than 80,000 skilled and compassionate caregivers in physician practices, hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies and hospice centers provide individualized, holistic care. A shared vision, common values, focus on whole-person health and commitment to making communities healthier unify the system's 50 hospital campuses. 

The Situation

With more than 50 hospital campuses in nine states, Adventist Health System is one of the largest provider networks in the U.S. But with several independently branded hospitals and hundreds of different online experiences under the parent system, Adventist Health had an identity problem. 

The Challenge

To become a nationally recognized healthcare leader, the organization needed to unify all its hospitals under a new brand and to create a single digital presence that would bring the rebranding and mission of “Whole-Person Health Care” to life.

The Solution

Digital agency Phase2 was tasked with architecting, building, and migrating the disparate collection of websites to a new Drupal platform. Working together, the teams created a new, customer-centric platform, including appointment booking, billing, and more. The new AdventHealth.com platform launched on January 1, 2019 as Adventist Health System rebranded to AdventHealth.

The platform united 1,200 facilities, 796 websites, and multiple physician search and booking systems into a single, seamless digital front door supported by a new brand design. Additionally, to create an industry-leading tech stack, Phase2 consolidated 28 different content management systems, eight different physician search experiences, and five different CRM platforms into a single Drupal 8 CMS, a system-wide Salesforce CRM, and an on-brand and highly customizable physician search and appointment booking experience.

By choosing Drupal as the CMS and Acquia's solution as the platform’s hub, AdventHealth’s marketing teams can now tap into a pre-existing library of materials (guides, questionnaires, surveys, emails, etc.), customizing only the elements necessary for a particular campaign. This allows them to share best practices throughout the organization, ensuring new campaigns are effectively optimized before launch. And new sites can be built without developer resources, giving marketers greater flexibility and control while allowing developers to continue focusing on high-value tasks.
