The Client

Paramount Global is a leading global media and entertainment company that creates premium content and experiences for audiences worldwide. Driven by iconic studios, networks, and streaming services, Paramount's portfolio of consumer brands includes CBS, Showtime Networks, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, Paramount+, Pluto TV, and Simon & Schuster, among others. 

The Situation

Paramount's Content for Change (CFC) is a global companywide, cross-brand initiative that seeks to use the power of the company's content creation ecosystem to break down the narratives that enable intolerance, hurtful stereotypes, and systemic racism to exist and grow. The company created the Content for Change website to bring additional attention to the newly expanded initiative and create a digital space where the values of the program – to uplift, educate, engage, and create meaningful relationships with the creative community – felt inherent and embedded into the experience. 

The Challenge

The Content for Change initiative is focused on building on Paramount’s existing efforts to further inclusion in content creation, programming, and workplace culture through research and academic rigor, while also making a long-term commitment to fighting systemic inequality and transforming how the world sees people. The CFC website needed to be a resource for disseminating important information around the initiative, as well as a place to discuss opportunities. 

The Solution

Paramount considered multiple options for its CFC platform, ultimately deciding on Drupal and Acquia because the power of the combined solutions provided everything the company needed. 

When developing the site, Paramount wanted to achieve a fluid, consistent, and impactful visual structure while also providing a seamless user experience for visitors, all in an effort to engage them to actively learn more. Content For Change has three pillars – Content, Creative Supply Chain, and Culture – and while each of these has its own specific sections, Paramount understood the importance of interweaving the narratives on the finished site. 

The Results

Using Acquia to implement the Content for Change website increased Paramount’s speed to market, enhancing the ease with which site updates can be made and increasing the prospect of scaling the site in the future.
