The AI Dilemma: Ensuring Inclusive, Safe, and Trustworthy AI

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the topic right now. As it progresses at a blinding pace, it’s important to understand that it’s only as smart as the data we give it. Toju Duke’s keynote presentation impresses upon us that we have to think critically about the data we give AI to learn from. If we feed it our unconscious biases or learned power structure, it’ll learn based on them and present information that’s not inclusive. Challenging preconceptions and actively practicing inclusion from data sets to daily digital interactions is one of the many ways we can steer AI in a direction that leaves nobody out.
