Trust: Saving Lives and Protecting People on the Move

Mike Bugembe of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) within the United Nations takes the stage to share how the digital presence of his organization affects real human beings. IOM has more than 200 public-facing websites that all need proper content management and translation. The problem is, copycat websites built by human smugglers often mirror — or, in some cases, build better websites than —  the IOM under the guise of legitimacy, putting migrants in physical danger and taking their money. The importance of security and digital vigilance cannot be overstated.
